CHILD SPONSORSHIP
EDMC runs two streams of Child Sponsorship programs - a formal sponsorship program, ChildCARE Plus, and an informal program, Tools-4-School.

Child Care Plus is an ERDO program that provides educational supports and biblical teaching to children with financial needs in developing nations. CCP was first established in partnership with Every Day Ministries Canada in 2016 and since then has been helping children in the Dominican Republic, in the communities of Los Rincones and Boba (on the north coast of the island).
Through this program and faithful sponsors, we are able to help sponsored children with doctor’s appointments, lab work, medications, health and food packages, dental care, school uniforms, shoes, back packs, and school supplies, as well as birthday and Christmas gifts.!
Through home visits, we are able us to get a greater understanding of the needs of the children in general, and also to identify children who are struggling. Many of the children from single parent homes are carrying the heavy responsibility of caring for the home, looking after siblings, and preparing food for the family. It is helpful to identify those students and offer more support and additional food packages.

What is Child Care Plus?
ChildCARE Plus (CCP) is the name of ERDO’s child sponsorship program. CCP has been operating since 1992 and currently support over 7,600 children in 40 locations across 28 countries. ChildCARE Plus is run through global worker administrators and local staff who know every child in our program and work closely with their families.

Tools-4-School is a program that was launched in 2010 to provide pastor’s families with additional supports for their children to attend school. This program grew and was relaunched in conjunction with the Transformation Program in 2012 to provide students in need with the basic school materials to attend school in the villages of Los Rincones and Boba. This annual distribution of school materials, uniforms, and back packs take place in the month of August. Most of the children in the Village of Los Rincones became part of the Tools for School program while they waited for sponsors through ERDO's ChildCARE Plus program.
As of 2025, there are 125-150 students who are part of the Tools-4-School program in Los Rincones and Boba. The children are selected with the help of CCP committee members based on need. Once they are selected, the program is explained and dates are set for distribution of school materials with each family. Furthermore, each child and their parents are prayed for as they start the new school year.
We are looking for additional support for this program as over 50 new students are in need of school supplies. Going into 2025 we will need an additional $8000.00 in donations to meet the growing need.
